It's All In The Name

Soccer Dad posts today about a proposed suicide theme park in Hong Kong. Reminds me of a great quip I once heard about our mutual alma mater, Yeshiva University:

Two YU students were talking about the pressures of attending college, and one mentioned that he had heard about a school which had a bridge near the campus nicknamed "suicide point". Students who were distraught over their grades, love life, etc, would use this spot to jump to their deaths. The student piously continued, "YU would never have something like that!"

"You're right," said his friend. "Here, it would be called 'The Sol and Fannie Goldberg Suicide Point'!"

In true benefactor style... You do know that the Goldberg Point would not just have a plaque beside it. But there would be a tribute luncheon at $72/plate, with an event journal placed at every table setting. Following lunch would be a dedication ceremony and a ribbon cutting.
Love the quip.
