My Midday Confession

Soccer Dad tagged me with the "I Confess" meme. Gee, thanks buddy!

Since I'm a non-anon blogger, I can't go too far with this - see, I have this old Aunt May and if the world found out my secret, she might get attacked by Doc Ock and...

But here goes something, anyway. I'll give you the obligatory seven + one for good measure.

1) I confess... that I spend way too much time blogging at work (see the timestamp on most of my posts!). But at home there is just too much contention for my time as well as our computer resources. If this starts impacting my job performance, I will have to reassess.

2) I confess... that I have an initial negative reaction to almost anything new or unexpected. Change is always my challenge.

3) I confess... that though I know I'm a good baal koreh [Torah reader], every time I lain, even a parsha I have lained many times before, I am nervous like it's my bar mitzvah all over again.

4) I confess... that in college I had a major crush on Linda Ronstadt. But I've gotten over her. Really, I have.

5) I confess... that I often prefer to re-read a favorite book or watch a movie I know and love, than to take a chance on reading/seeing a new one (corollary of #2 above).

6) I confess... that when I was not too many years younger, I used to eat Hershey bars spread with Jif peanut butter with breakfast every day, and half a large bag of Wise barbecue chips with lunch, and I never gained an ounce. Boy, I'm jealous of my past self!!

7) I confess... that I donated most of my comic book collection to the UMBC special collections library (supplementing my dad's science fiction donation) 19 years ago, and I still miss it!

8) I confess... that though my musical preferences are usually of the rock variety, I still like Abba, Stevie Wonder, Barbara Streisand's Guilty album, some 70s disco and Israeli pop hits... and, of course, Linda Ronstadt! (But only musically. No romantic connection at all. I mean it.)

I confess... that I won't tag anyone in return. I'm feeling charitable today.

Gee you sound almost as conservative as I am!
It took me a few hours to figure out that you were channeling the grass roots.
Speaking of NJ bands did you know that the founder of the looking glass was Elliott Lurie?

Linda Ronstadt does not quite look the same as she did back in the 70's...
